Story

StrangerInThisLand.com is a blog by Jeff McLain, gaining ground as a progressive Anabaptist voice in a 3.0 world, which has been home on the web since October 17, 2008, dealing with the topics of personal journey, Mennonite Heritage and Theology, book reviews and blogging through church planting a missional and organic Mennonite community in Huntington Beach, California. Articles from time to time will also deal with the Mennonite Voice and values in a web 3.0 world, without selling out our simplicity to “trending technology”.

Jeff McLain, through StrangerInThisLand.com, is a registered book review blog with the Tyndale Publishing Blog Network and various Mennonite book publishers.  It also is a active member of the blog network, Mennonite Blogs.

Since 2006, Jeff McLain has also been a member of the Speaker Bureau for Every Church a Peace Church; Every Church a Peace Church looks to extend the vision that all churches can become peace churches by equipping advocates in regions, local congregations, and fellowships to transform their churches in response to Christ’s call to implement justice through nonviolent means.

Jeff McLain was born and raised in Lancaster Pennsylvania, overseeing a inner-city neighborhood justice initiative project for many years called Friends of Crystal Park.  From 2003 to 2009, he attended Lancaster Vineyard and served on the leadership team, sound team and interned under the Pastor, training for Church Planting.  Recently, Jeff McLain has relocated to Stafford Virginia and regularly attends Dayspring Mennonite Church and runs their popular iTunes podcast.

Jeff’s projects and his work with many non-profit organizations has been featured in numerous publications and newspapers, including a notable mention in a book from Washington Post journalist Lauren Sandler; Righteous: Dispatches from the Evangelical Youth Movement.
